In our new unit Online Production and Professional Practice, we begun by creating a business card on Photoshop for our professional presence. I decided to keep my card clear and simple.
I used a font called “Kiona” which I downloaded from dafont.com. It is slick and clear, making it easy to read. However, to subtly show the purpose of my card as a media creator, I used a ‘like’ social media icon downloaded from thenounproject.com as the ‘O’ in my name which adds a unique flair and shows my creativity. As well as this, I also used an Instagram icon from the same website to show that one of my contact handles is my Instagram account. I included modern pastel colours for the circle shapes which aI layered over one another to break up the background, it is easy on the eye and do not take the main focus away from the information the card is showing.
In the beginning I struggled to ensure all the font was central and equal in size and distance apart. I then split the canvas using the ruler and guide tool to find the middle and quarters and lined up the text accordingly. The contact text are all set to 6pt with 75 tracking so they are spaced clearly and identically.
